They are near and dear to my heart.  They have been with me since the beginning.  Since Little L was just a baby just barely sitting up.  And this session was certainly my favorite.  We ran, we played.  The girls laughed and showed every little part of their personalities.  That's what gets me everytime.  When I think, maybe, just maybe, I was able to capture a piece of their smiles and personalities so that one day they will look back on these pictures and remember not only what their glowing smiles looked like, but also how it felt to be a kid.  And I only hope that K+M look at these pictures and see their family the way that I see them.  Thank you, over and over and over again, for letting me be a part of it for an afternoon.

Their session was timed perfectly at the peak of the beautiful fall foliage.  I love a backyard session. There is a connection to the places and ways they already play together.  There is a familiarity that sets the kids (and even the parents) at ease.  They chased each other, caught the kids in mid air, even captured an image with their fur babies.  Thank you so much for inviting me into your home...it was an honor.

I have been photographing this beautiful blondie since she was just a tiny newborn snuggled in her parents arms.  Now, she is an exploring, curious two-year-old.  How I tell you, how, did the time go so quickly?  Her mama and daddy are smitten with her (and why wouldn't they be).  And as two-year-olds go, she had her own plans in mind as to what she was down for.  What impressed me so much is how daddy and mama just went with the flow.  You know, as a parent, that is so hard to do.  But if there is one thing I know for sure, if there is a 2 year tot in the session...you know who's the boss.  And I think that's kinda what I love about this age...letting them take the lead and seeing their little personalities shine through.  Thank you W family...for trusting me with your sweet moments and choosing me to document your story.

On their anniversary, they spent their morning with me...and their beautiful babies, documenting the family they have created together.  I watched them with their baby girl, only weeks after becoming parents for the first time.  I watched them love her, their gentleness...the way they held her.  And as I watched L&J with their kiddos this day...the calm way they talk with them, the patience they had...even when all she wanted to do was play...they are still those same amazing loving parents I met 3 years ago.

Their children are happy incredible little people.  They laughed and ran and adventured. This is what family is all about.  So happy anniversary you two.  Be proud of the couple-family-parents you have become.  Thanks for choosing me these past few years, to document your journey.
