Their last session with me before they were a family of 4! Love the S family and can’t wait to meet their little guy!

This.  This is what it looks like when you let them play...run and play.  This session just captured my heart so much.  They laughed and smiled and ran and collected dandelions.  They adore one another....can't you tell?

These beautiful people, in this beautiful place. They are so full of life and love for each other it shows in every photo I take of them.  I mean, when dad will skip over a bridge with his girls, you know he's a good one.  And when mommy laughs with you and pulls you close...that's the good stuff.  They are so near and dear to my heart and I am so grateful to have photographed them again this Fall season.

Right here is seriously one of my favorite extended family sessions...

This session was a celebration of sorts....a coming home.  My friend, and her adorable family of 4 moved back to Cleveland after over a decade in Chicago.  She met her husband in Chicago, had her babies there but in the end...I think this is home for them.  We had fun capturing their time together!  Thank you guys :)

Yes, we certainly get down to business during photo shoots. We get that shot...everyone looking in a classic portrait. But then we play...and those are always my favorite.  And there is definately a place for both. During this session with the K family...we played.  They walked, twirled, ran and even threw the baseball around. That is when their personalities come out.  Kids are full of motion, action, silliness...sometimes shy, but mostly small packages of pure energy.  When I photograph a family, I want you to see that energy.  I want them to look back on these images and remember not only what they looked like...but how if felt to be with each other.  Thanks K family for coming to play!

Another great year with some of my favorite people.  I'm telling you...kids grown like weeds and these girls are no exception.  It probably drives their parents crazy from time to time but I love it when their silliness together comes out. There is something between sisters...secrets, silliness...probably some arguing...but mostly a relationship where one would defend the other to the ends of the earth.  This is the beginning of that history together.

I adore them...their energy...their love for each other.  Each photoshoot we have I love even more than the last. Playing with these two was perfection...all while trying to catch a glimpse of who they are, how they feel, what their giggle looks like.  This is a family.  A beautiful, loving, real family.  Was it all giggles and smiles...certainly not...no day with little kids is...but so much of it was.  Watching L+J play with their kiddos melts my heart. Spinning, running. tickling, holding hands and even reassuring hugs when big sister was worn out.  I cannot thank you enough L family.  I feel honored to have photographed your babies as babies...and their personalities as they grown and change each year.

When mom contacted me saying that they would like a family session, especially with their beloved dog who is ill, I let her know that I am no pet expert but she was still completely in.  I loved this backyard session.  Their baby girl has been in front of my camera before during my school portraits, so there was a comfort there between us.  The first time I photographed her I could barely get a smile...shy and sweet...and reserved.  And the last time I photographed her that beautiful fun personality came shining through...and today, I got to see the fun confident little girl she is when mom and dad are by her side.  Thank you, guys...I feel so honored that you chose me!

This is family.  This is what it feels like to be a part of this family.  They are beautiful, loving, and happy...oh so very happy.  You can feel it the moment you walk in the door.  Lifestyle in-home sessions hold such a special place in my heart.  This is where I truly get to be a storyteller.  I get to capture what it feels like and looks like to be part of their family...in this moment in time.  Because let's face it, the moments go by so quickly...and the everyday moments are what want to remember.  You'll remember your trip to the Beach or your holiday traditions...but to remember the everyday...that is something completely special.  What did it feel like to squeeze together in her bed each night reading books or play My Little Pony on the living room floor...what did it feel like to watch her dance on her stage or tickles and coffee and babies in diapers in their mama's arms?  Take a look at these images, and you will know.

This shoot was a year in the making, so to speak.  They contacted me last fall when I was completely booked but this year they were first on my list.  Such sweet boys...all I wanted to do is bring out their personalities.  The oldest...imaginative, adventurous...curios.  The youngest...takes his time to warm up, but that smile.  It was worth the jokes and silliness to bring it out.  But more than anything, I enjoyed telling their story...who their family is at this moment in time.
